The new NSW Government home battery rebate program offers $1600 to $2400 upfront for installing batteries in homes or businesses. This program helps residents and businesses with existing solar panels install battery storage to maximise their solar energy use, reduce electricity bills, and contribute to a more reliable grid. It is part of the Peak Demand Reduction Scheme.

NSW Battery Rebate 2024 Details

• Rebates : Get $1600-$2400 off the upfront cost of a battery (depending on size).
• VPP Bonus : Connect your battery to a Virtual Power Plant (VPP) and earn an additional $250- $400 (can be claimed twice, three years apart).
• Eligibility :
  • Existing rooftop solar system required
  • Open to homes and businesses of all sizes
  • Battery capacity must be between 2 kWh and 28 kWh
  • Installation by an approved PDRS supplier
• Program Start : Rebates available from November 1, 2024.

Steps to Get the Rebate
